This xanthine oxidase inhibitor is used for the chronic management of hyperuricemia in adult patients with gout, particularly when allopurinol treatment is inadequate or not tolerated. It works by reducing uric acid production to prevent gout attacks and shrink tophi. It is typically available in packs of 10 tablets in Kenya.
