CLAVAM 1g Tablets (10’s) are a high-strength, broad-spectrum antibiotic designed to effectively combat severe bacterial infections. Each tablet contains Amoxicillin 875mg and Clavulanic Acid 125mg. Amoxicillin, a potent penicillin-type antibiotic, works by disrupting the formation of bacterial cell walls, leading to their destruction. Clavulanic Acid is a crucial addition as it acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, safeguarding Amoxicillin from enzymes produced by certain bacteria that would otherwise render the antibiotic ineffective. This powerful combination makes CLAVAM 1g highly effective against a wide range of stubborn infections, including those of the respiratory tract (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis), urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, and bone and joint infections. It is especially useful for infections caused by bacteria known to produce beta-lactamase enzymes.
