CLAVAM Syrup 156mg/5ml (100ml) is a widely prescribed broad-spectrum antibiotic specifically formulated for the effective treatment of bacterial infections, particularly in children. When reconstituted, each 5ml dose contains Amoxicillin 125mg and Clavulanic Acid 31.25mg. Amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, works by disrupting bacterial cell wall formation, leading to their destruction. Clavulanic Acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing certain bacteria from deactivating Amoxicillin, thereby significantly broadening its spectrum of activity.
