Azitro 500mg Film-Coated Tablets contain Azithromycin 500mg, a potent and widely used macrolide antibiotic. Azithromycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby effectively stopping the growth and replication of susceptible bacteria. The 3-tablet pack of 500mg is a common and convenient short-course regimen, often prescribed for specific bacterial infections. It is frequently used for the treatment of uncomplicated genitourinary infections such as those caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, and certain strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is also effective for acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, and certain skin and soft tissue infections.
