Description
Aristopin Eye Drop is a specialized ophthalmic solution primarily used to help control the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in pediatric patients, typically aged 4 to 14 years. Each milliliter of Aristopin contains Atropine Sulfate, an anticholinergic agent that, at low concentrations, has been clinically shown to slow down the elongation of the eyeball, a key factor in myopia progression. While the exact mechanism is still being researched, it is believed to involve action on muscarinic receptors in the eye.
Beyond myopia control, Atropine Sulfate eye drops (in varying concentrations) are also used in ophthalmology for other purposes, such as dilating the pupil (mydriasis) and relaxing the eye’s focusing muscles (cycloplegia) for comprehensive eye examinations or to treat certain inflammatory conditions of the eye like uveitis. Aristopin offers a targeted approach to managing vision concerns, contributing to better long-term eye health outcomes. It is a sterile solution, ensuring safety for ophthalmic use.
