Daboral 60ml is an oral syrup containing Aminosidine Sulphate (Paromomycin Sulphate 125mg/5ml), a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic. Designed for convenient oral administration, this medication primarily acts within the intestinal lumen as it is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. It effectively targets and inhibits the growth of various intestinal pathogens, including protozoa, bacteria, and certain tapeworms, by disrupting their protein synthesis.
Daboral syrup is commonly prescribed for the treatment of intestinal protozoal infections such as amoebiasis (Entamoeba histolytica), giardiasis, and cryptosporidiosis. It is also used for specific tapeworm infections, as well as for the management of certain bacterial gastroenteritis and for the suppression of intestinal flora (e.g., pre-operatively for bowel surgery or in the management of hepatic encephalopathy).
