CONVENTIN Capsules 100mg (30’s) are a prescription medication containing Gabapentin 100mg, an anti-epileptic drug (anticonvulsant) also widely recognized for its efficacy in managing neuropathic pain. Gabapentin works by influencing the activity of certain nerve cells in the brain and nervous system, which helps to reduce abnormal electrical activity associated with seizures and modify the way the body senses pain. CONVENTIN 100mg is primarily indicated as an adjunctive therapy (taken with other medications) in the treatment of partial seizures in adults and children aged 6 years and above, and as monotherapy (taken alone) for partial seizures in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above. Furthermore, it is prescribed for the treatment of peripheral neuropathic pain in adults, including conditions such as painful diabetic neuropathy (nerve pain caused by diabetes) and post-herpetic neuralgia (nerve pain that persists after a shingles infection). This medication requires careful dosing titration and should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
