Description
Contiflo OD 0.4mg Extended-Release Capsules (10’s) are a prescription medication specifically formulated for the symptomatic treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), also known as an enlarged prostate, in men. Each capsule contains Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4mg, an alpha-1A/1D adrenergic receptor antagonist. This medication works by selectively relaxing the smooth muscles in the prostate gland and the bladder neck, thereby reducing resistance to urine flow through the urethra. This action significantly improves urinary symptoms associated with BPH, such as difficulty initiating urination, weak urine stream, urinary urgency, frequent urination (including at night), and a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. As an “OD” (Once Daily) formulation, Contiflo provides a sustained release of Tamsulosin over 24 hours, ensuring consistent symptom relief. It’s important to note that while Contiflo OD effectively alleviates BPH symptoms, it does not reduce the actual size of the prostate gland.
