Betason Ointment is a highly effective topical corticosteroid specifically formulated for the intensive treatment of severe inflammatory, itchy, and dry skin conditions. Containing Betamethasone Valerate 0.1% w/w, a potent synthetic corticosteroid, this ointment works by profoundly reducing inflammation, redness, and swelling. Its rich, emollient base is particularly suited for dry, scaly, or lichenified (thickened) skin, providing both medication and essential moisture.
Betamethasone works by suppressing the body’s inflammatory responses, alleviating severe itching and discomfort. It is primarily prescribed for conditions that strongly respond to corticosteroid therapy, such as:
- Severe Eczema (Dermatitis): Including chronic atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and neurodermatitis, especially where skin is very dry, scaly, or thick.
