Description
Bactigras 100mm x 100mm are sterile, medicated paraffin gauze dressings impregnated with 0.5% Chlorhexidine Acetate. Each dressing measures 100mm by 100mm (10cm x 10cm) and comes individually packed, with 10 such dressings in a box. This dressing is designed to provide a soothing, low-adherent layer that protects the wound while delivering a broad-spectrum antiseptic. Chlorhexidine Acetate is an active agent against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including MRSA, which helps to reduce the risk of wound infection and inflammation.
Bactigras acts as a barrier between the wound surface and an absorbent secondary dressing, allowing wound fluid (exudate) to pass freely into the secondary dressing without sticking to the wound bed. This promotes a moist wound healing environment and minimizes trauma and pain during dressing changes. Bactigras is commonly used for a variety of wounds, including:
- Minor burns and scalds
- Lacerations, abrasions, and other skin loss wounds
- Donor and recipient graft sites
- Leg ulcers (where infection risk is present or as an adjunct to systemic antibiotics)
- Minor cuts and grazes
