Description
Azopt Eye Drops contain Brinzolamide 1% (10mg/ml), an ophthalmic suspension belonging to a class of medications called carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. This medication works by reducing the production of aqueous humor (the fluid inside the eye), thereby effectively lowering elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). Azopt is primarily prescribed for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension, conditions characterized by abnormally high pressure within the eye. Uncontrolled high IOP can lead to damage of the optic nerve and potential vision loss. Azopt can be used alone or in combination with other eye drops to achieve target IOP. The bottle typically contains 5ml or 10ml of the suspension. It is important to shake the bottle well before each use and remove contact lenses before instilling the drops, reinserting them at least 15 minutes later.
