Description
Aurotim Eye Drops contain Timolol Maleate, a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent. This medication works primarily by reducing the production of aqueous humor, the fluid within the eye, thereby effectively lowering elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). Aurotim Eye Drops are a cornerstone in the management of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension, conditions where increased eye pressure can lead to optic nerve damage and potential irreversible vision loss. By consistently lowering IOP, Aurotim helps to preserve vision. It is typically instilled once or twice daily into the affected eye(s) as directed by an ophthalmologist. Due to its systemic absorption, caution is advised in patients with certain respiratory conditions (like asthma or severe COPD) or cardiac conditions (like slow heartbeat or heart failure), as it can potentially worsen these. As a prescription-only medication, strict adherence to dosage and regular eye examinations are crucial.
