Description
Arbitel-H is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing two active substances: Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. This dual-action approach provides comprehensive control over high blood pressure.
- Telmisartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the effects of Angiotensin II, a hormone in the body that causes blood vessels to narrow. By relaxing and widening blood vessels, Telmisartan helps to lower blood pressure and improve blood flow.
- Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic, often called a “water pill.” It works on the kidneys to increase the excretion of excess water and salt (sodium and chloride) from the body through urine. This reduction in fluid volume also contributes to lowering blood pressure and can help reduce fluid retention (edema).
By combining these two mechanisms, Arbitel-H effectively reduces blood pressure, thereby lowering the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems.
