Description
Aprovasc Tablets 300mg/5mg provide effective and sustained control for essential hypertension (high blood pressure), especially in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately managed by a single antihypertensive medication. Each film-coated tablet contains 300mg of Irbesartan and 5mg of Amlodipine, supplied in a convenient pack of 28 tablets.
- Irbesartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the effects of Angiotensin II, a potent natural substance that causes blood vessels to constrict. This action leads to the relaxation and widening of blood vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure.
- Amlodipine is a Calcium Channel Blocker (CCB). It lowers blood pressure by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into the smooth muscle cells of blood vessels, causing them to relax and expand.
The dual mechanism of action of Irbesartan and Amlodipine in Aprovasc 300mg/5mg offers a synergistic effect, providing a more robust reduction in blood pressure compared to either component alone. This comprehensive approach helps to significantly lower the risk of severe cardiovascular complications such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage. Aprovasc 300mg/5mg is designed for once-daily dosing, promoting patient adherence and consistent blood pressure control.
