Indirab 0.5ml is a highly effective anti-rabies vaccine designed for both pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) against the fatal rabies virus. Manufactured by Bharat Biotech, this purified, inactivated, lyophilized vaccine (prepared on Vero cells) works by stimulating the body’s immune system to produce protective antibodies.
For pre-exposure vaccination, Indirab is crucial for individuals at high risk of rabies exposure, such as veterinarians, animal handlers, laboratory personnel, and travelers to rabies-endemic regions, helping to build immunity before potential contact. For post-exposure treatment, it is a critical intervention following a suspected rabies exposure (e.g., animal bite or scratch).
