Description

Anti-D (Rho(D)) Immunoglobulin (Rhesuman Berna Syringes) 2ml/300mcg is a critical biological medicine used to prevent Rh sensitization in Rh-negative individuals, particularly during pregnancy. Each pre-filled syringe contains 300 micrograms (1500 IU) of human anti-D immunoglobulin. This life-saving injection works by neutralizing any Rh-positive red blood cells that may enter the bloodstream of an Rh-negative mother from an Rh-positive fetus. By destroying these foreign red blood cells before the mother’s immune system can recognize them, Rhesuman Berna prevents the formation of maternal anti-D antibodies. This is crucial for safeguarding future Rh-positive pregnancies from Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn (HDN), a severe condition that can lead to fetal anemia and other serious complications.

Rhesuman Berna is routinely administered to Rh-negative pregnant women during the third trimester (antenatal prophylaxis) and again after delivery if the baby is Rh-positive. It is also indicated following potentially sensitizing events such as miscarriage, abortion, ectopic pregnancy, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), or any significant bleeding during pregnancy. Administered intramuscularly by a healthcare professional, this injection plays a pivotal role in ensuring the health of Rh-negative mothers and their Rh-positive babies.
